Google AdWord: A Pay Per Click (PPC) program of advertising on Google. The ads appear on the right hand side of the Google Search page on keywords / key phrases that you choose. Ads also appear on Google Network pages.
Google Network: Independent web sites affiliated with Google including AOL, Amazon, MySpace, and the New York Times.

Google Local Listing: Google feature that lets business owners register their business and list store hours, maps, coupons, and contact information.
Google Analytics: Google feature that tracks all demographic data and can track all advertising data for a users web site.
Pay-Per-Click: Advertising model in which advertisers pay only for click-through to their web site.
CPC (Cost-Per-Click): The cost or cost-equivalent paid per click-through.
Click-Through: The process of clicking through an online advertisement to the advertiser’s destination.
Impression: A single instance of an online advertisement being displayed.
ROI (Return On Investment): a metric that attempts to determine what the advertiser receives in return for the cost of the advertising. Usually, ROI = (Return - Cost) / Cost
